40′ High Cube Shipping Container – Watertight & Airtight Storage Solution
Shipping Containers for Sale, New and Used
Whatever the job, it usually starts with picking the right size and condition. This category pulls together everything we sell so you can compare in one place: compact 20ft boxes, long-haul 40ft and 45ft units, and roomy 53ft high cubes, in conditions ranging from one-trip near-new down to budget cargo-worthy. Rather than hunt across separate pages, you can weigh footprint against price here and then drill into the specific grade you want.
Match the Container to the Job
- 20ft standard: ~1,170 cu ft, the go-to for site storage and tight access lots.
- 40ft standard / high cube: ~2,390 cu ft, with the high cube adding a foot of height for tall loads.
- 45ft & 53ft high cube: maximum volume for warehousing and bulk storage.
- Double-door units: doors on both ends for drive-through access and faster loading.
- Insulated and modified builds: for workshops, offices, and climate-sensitive contents.
On condition, the rule of thumb is simple: choose one-trip / new for clean paint and conversions, cargo-worthy for a sound certified box at a fair price, and wind & water tight for dry stationary storage on a budget. Cargo-worthy units are still rated to ship freight by sea; wind & water tight units are sealed but no longer cargo-certified, which is exactly why they cost less. Prices in this category span $1,300 to $15,500, and delivery is the same flat $500 regardless of size.
Size usually comes down to access as much as capacity. A 20ft fits a standard driveway and turns in tight, while a 40ft needs about 60 to 70 feet of clear straight approach for the tilt-bed truck to set it down. Think about where the doors will face, whether you'll add shelving or a roll-up later, and how level the ground is. A few minutes of site planning saves real headaches on delivery day and keeps the heavy doors swinging square for the life of the box.
