53ft Containers for Sale
The 53ft high cube is the biggest container we sell - longer than a 40 or 45ft and built to North American road-trailer dimensions. It delivers the most floor space and cube of any unit in our catalog, which makes it a workhorse for bulk storage and large-scale conversions.
53ft High Cube Shipping Containers
At 53 feet long and a full 9'6" high cube, this is the largest container in our range and the most storage you can get in a single steel box. Originally built for domestic over-the-road freight rather than ocean ISO service, the 53-footer gives you roughly a third more length than a 40ft high cube - and because it was built to North American trailer dimensions, it's the most spacious unit most US buyers will ever place on a yard. Our stock spans one-trip near-new units, multi-trip and cargo-worthy boxes, and storage-grade used units, priced from about $3,100 to $15,500, so the same size covers everything from a budget storage box to a clean conversion shell.
What the Extra Length Unlocks
- Bulk and warehouse-overflow storage that consolidates several smaller boxes
- Long-format conversions: workshops, studios, multi-room offices
- Equipment and inventory storage for contractors, farms and retailers
- Drop-and-go on-site storage when you don't want to rent a building
- Seasonal stock holding for retailers who need space only part of the year
Choosing a Condition
Match the grade to the job. A one-trip unit has made a single cargo voyage and looks near-pristine - best for visible setups or anything you'll convert and finish. Multi-trip and cargo-worthy boxes are certified wind and water tight with cosmetic wear and cost less, making them the smart middle ground. Storage-grade used units are the budget pick for pure dry storage where appearance doesn't matter and a few dents are no problem. Whichever you choose, it's inspected before dispatch and backed by our 30-day return policy, so there are no surprises when the truck arrives.
Site Prep and Smaller Options
Because of the length, a 53ft container needs a long, level, well-compacted pad and a clear straight run for the tilt-bed truck to set it down without twisting the frame. If your site can't take 53 feet, the 40ft containers are the most popular step down, and the high cube range lists every 9'6" unit we carry. For appearance-grade boxes, see our new containers. Confirm exact dimensions on the specifications page.
It's also worth thinking about why you'd choose a 53ft over two 40ft boxes. One long unit means a single delivery, a single security point and one continuous run of floor with no dividing wall - ideal for racking, long lumber or a multi-room build. The trade-off is access: the truck needs serious room to spot a 53-footer, so a cramped urban lot may not suit it. These are domestic-spec containers and less common than 20 and 40ft sizes, which is why the four grades here move at different speeds - the cleaner one-trip and cargo-worthy units especially.
