Container Cabins for Sale, Finished and Ready

A cabin is a container that's already been converted into a usable room. Rather than handing you an empty box, these units arrive insulated, fitted with a personnel door and, in most cases, electrics run in and an interior lining in place. The current range spans a custom 20ft/40ft insulated cabin with electric and door, a 3+1 toilet block, a 20ft shower-and-WC block, and a compact flat pack office, with prices from $2,885 to $12,500. The custom 20ft and 40ft cabin can be specified to suit your job, so you choose the door and window positions, the lining and whether power is pre-wired before it leaves us.

Common Uses for Container Cabins

  • Site offices and welfare cabins on construction and trade jobs
  • Garden offices, studios and hobby rooms at home
  • Granny flats and guest rooms where local rules allow
  • Ticket booths, kiosks and gatehouses
  • On-site toilet and shower blocks for events and crews
  • Pop-up retail, bars and food units at markets and festivals
  • Welfare and break rooms on remote or off-grid sites

Because the heavy work is done at the factory, a cabin lands on site close to ready. Insulation keeps the interior comfortable through hot and cold spells, the steel shell stays secure and lockable, and a wired unit only needs a local electrician to connect mains power. Larger 40ft conversions give you room for a partitioned office plus a welfare area in one delivery, while a 20ft cabin drops neatly onto a tight plot. Vinyl or laminate flooring over a sealed subfloor wipes clean and stands up to muddy boots, which is why these hold up on busy sites where a timber cabin would wear out.

Base, Power and Permits

Set the cabin on a level base, sleepers, a concrete pad or compacted hardcore, before the tilt-bed truck arrives, and leave clear access for the truck to reach the spot. For residential use, check local setback and permit rules first, as a habitable cabin may need building approval, especially if anyone will sleep in it. Plumbed cabins also need water and waste connections planned ahead of delivery so hook-up is quick once the unit is set.

If you want a workspace-specific build, see our container home offices; for sanitary units, our toilet and shower blocks; and for multi-room layouts, our modular buildings. Request a quote for a custom cabin spec.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these cabins finished inside or just empty containers?
They're finished conversions. Units arrive insulated with a personnel door, an interior lining and, in most cases, electrics already run in. You'll need a local electrician to connect mains power on site.
Can I use a container cabin as a granny flat?
Many people do, but a habitable dwelling usually needs local planning or building approval. Check your city or county zoning rules before ordering, especially for sleeping accommodation.
What sizes of cabin do you sell?
Current stock ranges from compact flat pack offices up to custom 20ft and 40ft insulated conversions, plus dedicated toilet blocks. See our toilet and shower blocks for sanitary units.
How much does a container cabin cost?
Cabins in this category run from about $2,885 to $12,500, depending on size, fit-out and whether sanitary fittings are included. Flat $500 nationwide delivery applies to every order.
What kind of base do I need?
A level base such as timber sleepers, a concrete pad or compacted hardcore. The cabin is delivered by tilt-bed truck and placed directly onto your prepared ground.
