Shipping containers are sold by grade, which describes their condition and intended use. Knowing the grades helps you buy with confidence and avoid surprises. Here's what each term means.
One-Trip (New)
Manufactured recently and shipped just once, one-trip containers are the closest thing to brand new. Expect a clean interior, solid floors, working doors, and near-flawless paint — the top choice for modifications and high-visibility uses.
Cargo-Worthy (CW)
Cargo-worthy containers are certified structurally sound and fit for international shipping. They've seen service and show cosmetic wear, but the structure, floor, and doors are solid. An excellent balance of price and quality for most buyers.
Wind & Water Tight (WWT)
WWT units are guaranteed to keep wind and water out, making them great for dry storage. They may not carry a current shipping certification, but they'll protect your contents from the elements at a lower price.
As-Is
As-is containers are sold in their current condition and may have damage, leaks, or other issues. They're the cheapest option but best left to buyers who can inspect and repair. We focus on inspected, dependable units rather than as-is gambles.
Which Grade Should You Buy?
For a clean look or modifications, choose one-trip. For solid, watertight storage at a great price, choose cargo-worthy or wind & water tight. Not sure how to inspect a unit? Read how to inspect a used container, then shop with confidence.
