Getting a shipping container delivered is simpler than most people expect — but a little preparation makes all the difference. Here's how shipping container delivery works and how to get your site ready.

How Containers Are Delivered

Most containers arrive on a tilt-bed (roll-off) truck that gently slides the unit to ground level right where you want it. For stacking or placement over obstacles, a crane or forklift can be arranged in advance. We deliver anywhere in the continental U.S. for a flat $500.

Site & Access Requirements

  • Level surface: firm, level ground — gravel, concrete, asphalt, or compacted dirt.
  • Clear access: roughly three times the container's length of straight, clear space for the truck to maneuver and off-load.
  • Overhead clearance: no low branches, wires, or structures along the path.

What to Expect on Delivery Day

Have someone on site to direct placement and inspect the container before the driver leaves. Note any damage on the paperwork and report issues within 48 hours. Most deliveries are scheduled within 5–10 business days after payment clears. Full details are in our shipping policy.

Tips for a Smooth Delivery

  • Lay railroad ties or a gravel pad to keep the floor dry and level.
  • Clear the path and mark exactly where you want the doors to face.
  • Tell us about tight access ahead of time so we can plan the right truck.
