This 20-foot high cube shipping container is a weather-resistant, secure storage solution for residential, commercial, and industrial use. Built from durable Corten steel, it stands 9 feet 6 inches tall externally for extra vertical space over a standard container. It arrives with anti-condensation coating, integrated LED lighting, and sturdy shelving, ready to use as a storage unit, workshop, or mobile office.
Key Features
- Increased Interior Height: As a high cube unit, it adds about one foot of vertical space over a standard container, allowing taller shelving and easier movement inside.
- Anti-Condensation Protection: A specialized interior coating reduces moisture buildup from temperature swings, helping protect stored goods from damp and rust.
- Integrated LED Lighting: Battery-powered or low-voltage LED lighting provides illumination inside, improving visibility and usability in low light.
- Built-in Shelving System: Heavy-duty shelving units help organize tools, inventory, or materials and maximize usable space.
- Durable Construction: Cor-ten steel for structural integrity and weather resistance, with a marine-grade plywood floor and sealed doors to help keep the interior watertight.
This 20-foot high cube container is built for users who need durable, secure, organized space. The high cube design is a key differentiator, providing 9'6" of external height that translates to a more comfortable interior for standing and storing larger items.
To tackle the common problem of condensation in metal structures, the unit is fitted with an anti-condensation coating. This is a proactive step to help manage internal moisture and keep a drier environment for your belongings.
Adding interior lighting and shelving turns the container from a plain steel box into a functional workspace or storage room. The lighting improves safety and accessibility, while the shelving gives a ready-made organizational system. Like all ISO-standard containers, this unit has standard corner castings, making it transportable by truck, rail, or ship and suitable for stacking.

This container suits a variety of applications, including secure storage (vehicles, equipment, construction materials, retail inventory, or household goods), workshop or hobby space (the extra height, lighting, and shelving make a practical base for a workshop, art studio, or DIY space), and on-site operations (a secure tool crib, field office, or temporary storage on construction sites and farms).
Buying a 20ft High Cube Container Fitted With Lighting, Shelving, and Anti-Condensation Coating
Most storage containers arrive as an empty steel shell and leave you to solve the lighting, the racking, and the damp yourself. This 20ft high cube container has already had those three jobs done. The extra foot of headroom that comes with a 9'6" high cube is what makes the fit-out worth having, because you can stand comfortably under the lights and run shelving high enough to use the volume you paid for.
The combination is aimed squarely at people who will be in and out of the unit regularly rather than storing something once and forgetting it. A lit, shelved, coated box behaves like a small warehouse; an unlit empty one behaves like a box.

Working Uses for a High Cube Storage Container
Headroom plus shelving changes what a container is good for. Instead of a deep pile you get addressable storage where everything is reachable.
- Parts and consumables store for a workshop or maintenance team
- Site tool crib where items are signed in and out daily
- Small-business stockroom with pick faces along both walls
- Sports club or theater group equipment and prop store
- Grounds and estate maintenance store for a school or campus
- Emergency supplies and spares cache at a remote facility
Power, Access, and Delivery Clearances
Check two things early. First, how the lighting is powered: low-voltage and battery systems need nothing from you, whereas a mains-fed install needs a licensed electrician and a weatherproof inlet. Second, remember that a high cube is a foot taller than a standard container, so measure gateways, low branches, and any canopy on the route as well as the final position. Allow roughly 15 ft of overhead clearance for the tilt-bed delivery itself.
Delivery is a flat $500 anywhere in the 50 states and is booked once your order is confirmed and quoted by route. To compare shells and fit-outs, see the 20ft container selection and our modified container builds. If you would rather start from a plain high cube, look at the 20ft high cube one-way container, and for a heavier workshop specification there is the 20ft workshop container with shelves. Measurements for every size are listed on our specifications page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a high cube worth the extra height?
If you are storing on shelves or working inside, yes. The additional foot lets an average adult move around without stooping and adds a usable top shelf across the whole length. If the container will simply hold pallets loaded by forklift, a standard height unit is usually the more economical choice.
Can the shelving be moved or removed?
Shelving is fitted to suit general storage and can normally be repositioned if your layout demands something different. Bear in mind that anything bolted or welded to the wall panels becomes part of the structure, so any changes are best made with the doors open and the unit level and settled in its final position.
Does the anti-condensation coating replace ventilation?
No, the two work together. The coating absorbs moisture as surfaces cool and releases it as they warm, while the vents give that moisture somewhere to go. Blocking the vents to keep drafts out defeats the system, so leave them clear and keep stored goods slightly off the walls to let air circulate.
