20-foot Flat Rack Shipping Container – Cargo-worthy

This 20-foot flat rack container is designed to carry cargo that won't fit inside standard enclosed containers. It is built around a heavy-duty steel base frame with collapsible end walls at each end. With the end walls folded down, several flat racks can be stacked together for return transport.

The open sides and top take oversized machinery, vehicles, timber, pipes and construction materials. Lashing rings are built into the base frame and end walls to secure cargo in transit, and a corner casting at each corner supports lifting, stacking and securement aboard vessels, chassis or rail cars.

The unit is rated cargo-worthy, confirming it meets the structural requirements for intermodal freight transport. Its base frame uses steel cross members and a flush-mounted hardwood floor that handles wheeled and tracked equipment, while the COR-TEN steel end walls lock upright for transit.
