The Ice Depot works as a fully integrated ice production and vending system. Incoming water passes through a multistage purification process before reaching the ice maker. The formation chamber produces uniform 22×22×22 millimeter cube ice, which moves to an insulated storage bin. An internal auger system carries ice from storage to the dispensing mechanism as required.

When a customer starts a purchase, the payment system validates currency and signals the control board to begin dispensing. For bagged orders, the machine positions an empty bag, fills it to the programmed weight, and heat-seals it before delivery. Bulk ice dispenses directly through a separate chute into the customer's own container.

The cabinet uses a front-door design for access to internal components during maintenance. A waterproof powder-coated steel exterior shields the internal mechanisms from weather when installed outdoors. The control system continuously monitors ice levels, water input, bag supply, and payment processing to keep operations running.
